Día 1: Huaraz-Quillcayhuanca (3830m)-TullpaCocha (4200m).
Our adventure begins by venturing into the Quilcayhuanca Valley, surrounded by impressive glacial peaks such as Nevado Chopi or Andavite (5518 m), Nevado Tullparaju (5787 m), Chinchey (6222 m) and more. At the end of the valley, at 4,200 meters above sea level, we will set up our camp to rest and recharge. In the afternoon, we can walk towards the beautiful turquoise-colored Tullpacocha Lake, enjoying the unique views and landscapes that this place offers us.
Day 2: Tullpacocha (4200m)-Huapi Pass Lookout (5060 m)-Cojup Valley (4400m).
During our ascent, we will enjoy a wonderful view of the lakes that surround the area, such as Tullpacocha Lake and Chuchillacocha Lake, known for their beautiful green color. During the hike, we have the opportunity to admire the peak of Nevado Cayesh. After about 6 hours of trekking, we arrived at Huapi Pass at 5200 m. From here, we can appreciate the snowy peaks of Huapi, Pucaranra, Tullparaju, Andavite, Cayesh, Maparaju, San Juan, Palcaraju, Ishinca and Ranrapalca. Now, we begin the descent towards the Cojup Valley to reach our campsite.
Day 3: Cojup Valley (4400m) – Huaraz.
After breakfast at our campsite, we’ll get ready to descend through the Cojup Valley, following the winding river until we reach the end of our journey, which will take about three and a half hours. Upon reaching the end of the trail, we’ll meet our transportation ready to take us back to Huaraz. The estimated time of arrival is 4:00 p.m.
