This mountain is perfect for those seeking a technical challenge in ice climbing, with semi-technical walls and slopes ranging from 60º to 65º. It’s the perfect place to test your climbing skills and prepare for more challenging expeditions.

But that’s not all. In addition to being a great place to practice technical climbing, this mountain is also ideal for acclimating to altitude and preparing for more technically challenging expeditions. Its natural beauty and peaceful environment make this mountain a unique destination for adventure lovers.

We depart from Huaraz at 2:00 a.m. and head south towards Catac, then take a dirt road towards the east until we reach the starting point of our climb at 4830m. Our hike begins towards the moraine of Nevado Huarapasca. The climb starts with a 60° slope of two pitches of approximately 55 meters. After this section, we continue our traverse through a small gorge of the snowy mountain to finally climb the last wall of 65° with a pitch of approximately 50 meters. Once at the summit of the mountain, we can enjoy spectacular views.
