Welcome to Laguna Churup, one of the most impressive destinations that Peru’s Cordillera Blanca has to offer. Located to the east of Huaraz, our lagoon is a natural oasis surrounded by imposing mountains and spectacular Andean landscapes.
What makes Laguna Churup so special is its surprising color change, which varies depending on the position of the sun and the temperature, creating a magical effect that makes it a unique destination in the area. Additionally, it is surrounded by beautiful forests of quenuales, quishuares, and ichu, giving the lagoon an incomparable natural beauty.
We will head towards Pitec, which will take approximately an hour, until we reach the control point of Huascarán National Park.
Then, we will ascend towards the lagoon through a zigzagging path with steep inclines.
In the final stretch, it will be necessary to climb a small rock wall using fixed steel ropes for added safety.
Once we reach the top, we will walk towards the viewpoint where we can admire the spectacular beauty of the lagoon and the surrounding landscape before returning.
