On this exhilarating excursion, you will delight in stunning views of the Cordillera Blanca as we venture through the valleys of Huaylas and Conchucos. Moreover, you will have the opportunity to marvel at Peru’s tallest mountain, the majestic Huascarán. Don’t miss out on this unforgettable experience!
Departing from Huaraz, we head towards the province of Carhuaz and take a northeast turn shortly after the province. Within minutes of the turn, we will witness an incomparable and imposing beauty, the Huascarán snow-capped mountain.
The road we take will lead us to the Ulta valley, passing through the Shilla district beforehand. After a 2-hour journey on paved roads, we will arrive at the highest trans-Andean tunnel in the world (4736m).
There will be time for activities such as taking scenic photographs of the area and enjoying the snowy peaks (during the rainy season, we can make snowmen) and the beautiful turquoise and blue-colored lagoons. After visiting the lagoons, we will arrive in the province of Asunción-Chacas, where we can taste the delicious typical dishes of the area.
Later, we will visit its colonial-style square, its half-water constructions with wooden carved balconies, and the cathedral. Finally, we will return to Huaraz.
